Title: {P.S. Biotech Fair}
Forgot to tell you all, The 1st prize of the competition goes to Hwa Chong Instution. And they are so greedy to take another prize, the 2nd prize. The 3rd goes to NUS High. See, it's hard to win when there are top schools like these competing in the competition. Unlike Elementz (when I have not created this blog then), which each group is entitled to be awarded with either Gold, Silver, Bronze and COP, the Biotech Fair only allow 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze, a few Consolation awards, 2 special awards and the rest gets COPs. Of course, I can predict that AISS is going to say this:
"During the end of August, our school sent four teams to Ngee Ann Poly to compete in the Biotech Fair competitions. There are a lot of strong competitors in the competition from all over Singapore, some of schools that have participated are NUS high and Hwa Chong Institutinon. Our 4 teams fought hard in the competition and managed to get Certificate of Participation. May I introduce Mr Chin to give out the prizes..."

That really sounded like a disgrace. Especially this quote " managed to get Certificate of Participation " I bet lots of people are laughing about it, in their hearts.

Title: {Biotech Fair (Part II)}
Ok, today was average la. Got teachers day celebration. My ex-classmates all went back to the primary school except for me. What the... all because of this competition...

School was dismissed at 10.30am. Early. But we (the competitors chosen to represent the group for the competition) have to get there by 2pm to get the prize (if we got it). Ya. I thought there is still a long way to go and decided to sleep for a while. My big mistake. Woke up at around 1pm. Only 1 hour left. Do a quick change and ran out to Ngee Ann Poly. Took MRT to Bishan and was surprised that we get to use the platform from the other side (circle line). Then we (Ten cheer and I) took bus number 52 and waited and waited and waited till it reached NAP.

Okay, so the time is 2.40. 40 minutes late.

We kinda dashed to the conventional center (the place where the competition is held) and we saw loads of people sat on the seats looking in front. The prize ceremony has already begun.

To speak the truth, I AM EMBARASSED.

We waited for our names to be called out in the prize ceremony, but it never came... Okay, I thought, COP. To my surprise, the other 3 teams from our school (Ten Cheer's team, Kang Yong's team and Clement's team) also got the same result. That cheered me up a teeny weeny bit. We participate together, we lose together, we shared our sorrows together. So sad.

2nd day of exhibition. People (Both participants and adults) was flooding around the scene and looking at the works. Only I was at my own booth. But luckily it is not a crime to wander off your booth and let it be alone and get stared. I wandered off and after a few hours later, I was informed that we are able to keep the things and pack up and leave a few hours ago. Lol.

Kept and left the arena.

Instead of 52, I took 74 back to Ang Mo Kio, then took the train to Yishun.

Tada. Over. Fin. Sayonara. Ciao. The end.

Title: {Biotech Fair (Part I)}
Okay, today Biotech fair lah. That life science competition... Have to wear long pants and belt and... (everything the sec 3, 4, 5 have to wear.) Look much more older with those things on however. Anyway went to Ngee Ann Poly to showcase your experiment. There are 4 teams from our school and 2 of them are seniors, Sec 3, took a while to decorate everything and get ready.

Lunch time we went to their canteen and it totally LOOK LIKE A AIR CONDITIONED FOOD CENTRE WITOUT THE AIR-CON. The food there is cheap (but still not cheaper than our school >.<) then, I came across a store, which our school did not have. A dessert store. It sells stuff just like the store in the food center and the price is totally crazy. $0.6o for a Ice kachang. $1 for a longan almond. The price is so cheap, that I bought two.

During the judging of the exhibition, the judges ask some question about our project that we did not expect. Who would have expected 'Why don't people buy terepenes instead of essential oil and spray it?' when the topics is 'anti-microbial potential of plants'? Who would? But overall it was OK. they said so and we were relieved.

The Prize: 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze and 8 Certificate Of Participations
The number of groups: 70+
Chances of getting a prize: (13/70+) = 1/6 = >16%
Chance of getting top 3: (3/70+) = 1/26 = >2%

Shoot, no hope already...

Lazy to write today somehow...

Title: {Tomorrow...}
3 days never write liao...

Today was kinda okay, nothing exciting about it. Ms chia just given us the Question for the SA2 Art exam... I can bet that very few would do question 3.
Here are the question before I continue:
1) Response drawing on the theme Celebration.
2) Make a ceramic plaque for the anniversary since the opening of a new bank on the theme Celebrations.
3) Create a sneakers based on the theme Celebrations.

You will have to draw and colour a sneaker for question 3. Strangly enough, some of the other pupil do on Q2. I think it will be an disadvantage to it... Mold, coil, decorate, bake, colour. As for Q1, you just need to draw a response picture. From my point of view, response drawing is just a drawing that must be related to the whatever theme you are choosing. I chose Birthday as my theme.

IT time I so despo sia. Do as much animation as possible then realise that there is only 2 minutes left. Then I "Unleashed the beast within me" then do it like mad. In the end, I completed and voila! submitted the animation challenge to cher.

Tomorrow Biotech fair competition, have to wish me and my team (not to mention the others AISS teams, and NOT the other school's team) good luck!!! Everyone in the Life Science will be going for this competition...
Tomorrow is also a day which you get to check your subjects whether you get A1s. My target is 5 and always 5. 5 A1s, abit tough for you maybe, but I have been getting 5 and more A1s since... Ok lah, maybe not. But I will continue to strive for excellence in my studies!!! I have high hopes for Maths, science, MT and ya (fill in the blanks).

Wish me good luck for everything tomorrow!!!

Title: {Picture-istic moments}
Today is the CIP trip. Our group went to Oh Chin Huat Farm. I believe my ex-classmates should know where it is, just located along Sembawang Road near Bottle Tree Park. The other team went to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve, but it rained a short while after. Since a picture can tell a thousand words, here are some pictures of what happen to me in my group today...

The 1st Picture I took, the bus was heading towards Esplanade, about 3 minutes after we left school...

Time flies and we're at Esplanade!!! (I do not know why I took this picture...)

::Along the underpass which leads from Esplanade to the City Hall Interchange ::
I can't depict this. It's just pieces of paper stick on the wall.

Three word explain all: Doodles and Papers

Ahh, this is the one I like most. A lighthouse, with lights!!! (Actually it's just a lamp that is shining on it.)

Okay, this one is plain and simple. It really kinda feels like we can walk into it. (So maybe the picture did not show that, but if you see it when you're there, you will feel it.)

The end of the underpass.
[Go behind to go to Esplanade -- Theatres on the Bay]
[Turn left to go to MRT/Citylink Mall]
[Walk straight to go to toilet]

:: Along CTE... ::
We took the bus and head to Oh Chin Huat Farm, which we thought is in Ghim Moh, which the paper stated there. But what the heck is the bus going northwards?!

:: Oh Chin Huat Farm (Oh's Farm) ::
In Yishun. Kinda like the cute name for the farm, anyway the road which you see there is erm... Bah Soon Pah Road?? They also fenced this whole area up.

Oh's Farm specialises in hydroponics. Here is one of the place where they grow the plant.

Here's another one:
This one really feels like I'm inside, right?
No. It just my phone touching the outside of the plantation. With no bugs entering it, these plants sure grow healthily.

Here's another one, not used for now.

This one is for gallery purposes. The one you're seeing right now is... ... ... I forgot about it (hehe...) If you go deeper inside, they grow lavender plants. You just touch it's leaves and the fragrance comes out. (So nice...)

:: On the bus, back to Esplanade ::
This is one of the things I bought. A small cactus ($1.50), and the poisonous inedible plant, dumbcane, which they claim it's able to absorb radiation... ($1.20)

You know, right, it's raining. If you're eyes are sharp enough, you can see water droplets. I wonder what is the other group in Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve doing?

:: Near Padang, the starting place for the walk ::
Here is a test for you. Some people are holding the helium balloons and some of it flew into the sky. Can you find one? (Actually there is two. One is in red, the other is in blue.)

Oh my gosh! A person carring a loadful of helium balloons!!! How greedy!!! (How come the person did not fly up?)

The people who blows up the balloon with the tank full of helium. (Not explode, it's fill up)

I took another one. A few seconds later. Previously there is three balloons, now you see four.

Well, there is a balloon flying up. You can't see it in the picture.

"Hey mummy, there are oranges in the tree!!!" (Lame joke)

One part of the race. This is not a walk, it's orange sqeeze!!! (Another lame joke, but it's true about the squeezing part. There IS a lot of people.)

The Prime minister is there, but I just missed my chance ALL BECAUSE OF THESE STUPID UMBRELLAS BLOCKING MY VIEW! This picture shows the Padang, and a car and a person holding a bunch of balloons and...

Close-up view of the balloons. Nice. Still, you can see a lot of umbrellas...

Public transport vehicles are all blocked because of this walk. You can hear a lot of honkings. Poor drivers, have to wait for an hour or so...

By right, this is SAM. (Singapore Arts Museum) The banner states there : 'Viet-Nam!'

This pictures shows the Singapore River.

This pictures shows my friends waklking along the river.

This picture shows a lot of people walking. (That's my friend over there, the one who has the biggest face on this picture, F(privacy, please.)z

The part of the walk where walkers have to make a big loop. We came out of a tunnel on the right side of the pic, then walk along the bank, across the bridge, which is where I'm standing, then walk along the other side of the bank, then cross the bridge (in front of me) then into the tunnel once again.

Shoot, my finger over there.

Again, my finger...

The clowns on sticks (find yellow, and you'll find him). I really feel like kicking them the first time I see them.

:: The end of the walk, the dreadful scene ::
The authenic Orange Squeeze!!! People open their umbrella to shield off the rain, but this is too much! They crowd just to get the goodie bag (or is it the people who are giving out are too slow?).

:: Ten minutes later... ::
Drenched by the rain, sweated by the atmosphere.
::Another ten minutes later... ::
Still waiting...

:: Ten minutes later... ::
There, out of the crowd and into the freedom!!!

Okay, maybe the crowd is shifting over here?! Shoot.

That's the end of the day. So tired, so drenched, so wet, so angry.

:: THE END ::
There's still some parts which I remembered I missed out (the elderly at the farm), but who cares, this blog is too long and I am too lazy to write about it.

Title: {The Short Short Story of Why and The Reason I Never Enter The Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve Before.}
This is what I would have written if I brought a Laptop along and started a blog.

Primary 5:
:: At school::
We were so excited!!! I finally get a chance to enter the SBNR (Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve) and this time, it was my whole class going there!!! The clouds seems ominous though, but who cares, WE'RE HERE TO HAVE FUN!

:: Half an hour later... ::
Oh darn, the cloud seems to get worse. Only can pray that the rain clouds would shift away the area. Maybe I should sing "Rain, rain, go away..."

:: Half an hour later... ::
Shoot. It rained.

:: Three minutes later... ::
We were asked to leave the SBNR. But I feel like going the tour in the rain, it would be FUN. But then my teacher said, "Would you rather to have fun and risk of losing your life, or would you rather to get bored but stay safe?" It makes perfect sense, though. Walking under a mangrove forest with a few thousand trees around you. Zap one of them, and let it burn, and weaken the trunk, and let it fall, and cause a domino effect and risk of getting crushed by it. I surrender. Let's go back to school and die of boredom instead.

:: Ten minutes later, on the bus, along Seletar Expressway ::
Sunshine can be seen from both of the window panes on both side of the bus. You can hear my classmates ask to go back again, but it's a point of no return. Teacher say another day. And I know that day will never come...

Secondary 1:
:: At school ::
Again, I am going to SBNR. I'm still remember that day a few years ago as if it's like a few days ago. I can't believe it rained that day. Today, I'm going to make up for it -- the promise which the teacher had made when I was in Primary 5. (Even though it is a different teacher) Again, let me hope that it won't rain. Today.

:: Half an hour later... ::
So far so good, no black cloud, no grey clouds... Oh wait, but is that a raincloud, several kilometres away?

:: Half an hour later... ::
Reached SBNR. Can't see the rainclouds. Good. Finally, finally I get to enter the SBNR (not gallay area, the mangrove swamp.) However, we will have to watch a small movie on what, what... erm... why protect the swamp, is it?

:: Twenty minutes later, watching the movie... ::
Oh, it's about why should we protect mangrove forest. It's about a family who has a mangrove forest and the evil government wants to clear it to make way for sky-rise buildings. Then the 2 children of the family went to the swamp to bid farewell. Then a forest appeared. A living forest. An imaginative forest creature. An monkey-like forest creature. Then the trio go and ... ... ... ... ...

:: A split second later... ::
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz........

:: Lost track of time. Probably five minutes later ::
Finally the movie was over. What was it all about? Erm, I think is Why should we clear the swamps. Anyway Let's go for the walk!!!

:: Sixty seconds later... ::
Shoot. It rained.

:: History::
It repeats itself. Rain in Primary 5, and now Secondary 1. What the... I surrender. Let's go back to school and die of boredom instead.

:: Ten minutes later, on the bus, along Seletar Expressway ::
It's shining again and boos and hisses and jeers can be heard in the bus. Teacher say another day. And I know that day will never come... EVER.

The moral of both stories:
1)Never to go to SBNR again. It WILL rain.
2) Never to make up a broken promise.
3) History Repeats Itself.
4) Do not watch stupid movies. You'll waste time and time equals money.

Title: {Mixed Content}
Long time never write liao. 2 days = 48 hours = 2 880 minutes = 172 800 seconds = 172 800 000 milliseconds...

Anyway, this weekend feels sucky, even though the weekend has not come yet. (Check the date of this blog) And that darn it music exam has to be presented on Thursday. Wait. Thursday is PTM, so there will be no lessons. Fortnight Thursday, then. Oh yeah, holiday. 3 weeks later... then it will be the presentation. Cheeers!!!

Tomorrow would be the choir CIP (oops my CCA, hehe...) Go to that Oh Chin Huat Farm. It's a veggie farm, though and we will have to bring those fit elderly there. Buddy system with the elderly with us, some more... The other group will go to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve... and there is a 84.6% that it will rain, so, wish em good luck!!! I've never been IN there before, I'll tell you later. Then in the evening, we will go to the Esplanade (Weird, is it 'Es-pla-nad' or 'Es-pla-nade' Some foreign tourist once ask me where is Esplanade, with the 'nad' ending.) and have a good walkathon. Evening at the Esplanade... I'm sure i'll be romantic...

Enough with the CIP, anyway I topped the maths CA2, but somehow I don't feel contented. My Science will definitely won't get in to top 3 (All because of Chapter 6 & 7) The top 3 possibilities might be... 1. Monikca 2. Puey Yi 3. Asyari. Saaaddddd... Then it was MT. It was okay. Average. Barely passed. A1 grade. Home Economics, either i'm number 2 or i'm the 4th, for sure. Top mark: Hajira 82/100 (Sorry if I have offended you by showing your score...) Then there comes the 3 who has the same marks.

Title: {20/08/2008}
20/08/2008. 2008.2008. Is this counted as a lucky day or what? I actually thought that it is a very bad day. (okay la, everyday i start out negatively somehow, maybe because of going to school?)

Today have History test. Wrote 4 paragraphs of that stupid post war problem. Did not follow what the history teacher , Mr Saravanan , aka Mr Sara, aka Yogi bear, aka Suzie, told us to do. Which is planning for 5 minutes then writing for another 25. After the test, Mr Vanan took Asyari's paper and told us that this is what he wants -- a 2 page, 4 paragraph essay. But I myself only wrote 1. (less than 1, more like 7/8 actually) ( you know my handwriting is small, right?) Get ready not to score an A for history...

Art exam. Ms Chia gone through the "art piece" of ALL the students. Saddd... Ended in bottom 10, for the first time in my life. Overall, still did well. Ms Chia pulled my marks from 64, a C4 to 66, a C3. I'm so grateful!!!

IT. Nah, it's jus nothing. Finally know what the functions in the Flash MX does. Created a short flash on Paper Mario. (hahas).

Then Mother tongue. Nothing much. Teacher playing a short cartoon about monks. Just looking at some monks over here, monks over there, monkeys, monkeys everywhere... ( Okay, so there are no monkeys, only monks.)

Then Finally CCA!!! which I don't wanna mention... (petty)

Shocked to see no one has came into my blog. Outrageous little... Decided to put promote my blog (promote as in intoduce) by putting the link in the class blog. Get ready for a big comments and votes!!!

Title: {Olympic -- Table Tennis}

Singapore versus China in a all-out-war for gold medal. However Singapore team lost 3 to 0. Saddddddd...

Am I disapointed? Maybe.
Gotta watch another event right now. Seeyas!

Title: {Third Day. Disappointed.}
Third day, woke up damn early in the morning, cannot sleep after that... So, I decided to do my home work then...

:: Two Hours later ::

Finally completed my homework. And I gotta go out with my friends later in the afternoon. Time flies when you're NOT having fun -- scolded by my mum when she found out that my English test (few weeks already, the on on the GM food and agriculture) scored miserably.

Went out with my friends todae to the nearby CC, played badminton there. Sadd, forget to take sum pictures.

It is already in the evening and I was shocked when I that nobody went to leave a comment there. Or is it that nobody comes here in the 1st place. Oh darn, I'm writing to myself again. Please, those of you who came past here, please leave a comment to make this blog a more attractive place!!! :)

I would not call this late night, but at least it's nighttime. Anyway, finally, after all the trial and errors, adding and removing, I completed the basic part. I even included a picture. :)
Therefore, the version 1.0 is finally completed!!! Yeah!
