Title: {Yesterday's Outing - The Short Story.}
Okay, okay. I would like to apologise to those 20-odds number of people who are waiting for me at Northpoint OCBC for a few minutes.
Anyway, a lot of people came for the trip... wait. What was the total number of AISS choristers? 48? Okay, so approximately half of the total number of choristers. But that's still a lot...
:: On with the story... ::
Prologue: At home
"Mum, can I go to Sentosa?"
"..."
That was a day ago. My mum just ignored me. I went to sleep, waiting for the brand new tomorrow...
"Mum, I'm going to Sentosa later."
"Don't go la. You know how much it cost to enter Sentosa? And how much the items cost there? And..."
"I thought yesterday you said..." (even though she said nothing)
"Please, just don't go. Do you know how much you will spend there?"
... Okay, to cut the long story short, my mum told me that will be the last outing that I will be going. Dunno whether did she mean it or not... OMG. I am late!!! Gotta go. (That's what I said, in chinese)
Chapter 1: The long awaited wait
Okay, I reached there at about 10+. yeah, people are waiting there already. And when I reached there, everybody just move out. Okay, I am the last guy there. Along the underpass, TJ told me that he did not have any money for his Ez-link card so he need someone to back him up. I backed him. (weird thing to say...)
The MRT station... I walked through the gates, tapped my Ez-link card. TJ miraculously got through, not bad.
Chapter 2 Part 1: Vivacity
Nope, you did not saw the word Vivocity.Okay we reached Harbourfront Station and if you walked through the underpass, you'll see Vivocity B2. Yep. We climbed up 4 floors to reach the Sentosa Express monorail. The station name is Sentosa Station @ Vivocity. It sounded as if it Vivocity is at Sentosa already. Okay. We bought the ticket at a ticket dispensing machine aand we got the card real fast. Not like some people who queue up at the tickets center.P/S: We had lunch at 3rd floor in Vivocity, right before we bought the tickets.P/P/S: Bryan was mimicking the sound of train moving and opening and closing the door in the MRT carriage. (snigger)Chapter 2 part 2: The 'OMG!!!' Station, the 'What Language is That?' station and the Station That We are Alighting.
Next stop was the what... (scratching his head)the... the... the future developing station?! What in the world? This station has such weird names! The monorail (for there is only one rail) moved and curved and twisted along with the rail after it left the mainland. Too exaggerating, huh? Yeah. The first thing we really saw at Sentosa was a construction site. The Integrated Resort construction site. The Casino and the Condominium station. The station which most people are going to alight and leave. That IRCS (Integrated Resort construction site, if that what's I call it.) was like, err... 30% completed and the support for the rail is like.... building blocks. Rectangular, nearly perpendicular blocks stacked on top of each other. (There were only 2) and concrete. The tram was about 6m+ above the 1st floor of the IRCS. 8m + if you include the basement. It was all too much for an aerophobic guy like me. (Actually I don't even know whether I am aerophobic or not. I just tremble and saying OMG all over the place in the tram.) Then the tram stopped in the middle of nowhere. The driver pushed a button outside the rail and the train accelerates again. That moment when the train deccelerates was like... err... "Am I gonna die, like this, falling down into the construction site, along with my friends?" And so on and so forth... I'm so glad that I survived that... XD
Next station was Imbiah station. Please see the title to know what I think about this station.
When we reached the Station That We are Alighting, i.e. Beach Station. We can see the brilliant sun and the sand and the sea and the smell of the ocean salt. Yuck.
Chapter 3 Part 0: Sand-tosa
We walked along the road. For a few minutes until we reached the Emerald Pavilion. Nice name. The sun was blazing and no, we did not camp there. Another few minutes of walk, we went across a bridge to an iisland not so far away. And camped there for a few minutes. And we left to search for a better shelter. For there is only a small shelter there. Another few minuts and we reached Sapphire Pavilion. What's next? Ruby Pavilion? Diamond Pavilion? Or even Aquamarine Pavilion? We camped at the so-called blue jewel large-area shelter. And we played there when...
Chapter 3 Part 1: The Pavilion that Trouble had Brewed
Clack. The frisbee that we played as soon as we reached there got stuck on the top of that building. It was Sabrina's fave. (I think, because she told us to get it down. And it's a must.) Okay, a few tries with a rope and we already know it's not possible. No. We tried hard to get it down and had to use TJ's slipper as sacrifice. Time flies... (when we're not having fun) and we have wasted a third of an afternoon. It was Bryan who did the most job, but it was TJ who dealt the final blow and saved the day.
Chapter 3 Part 2.0: Gulp. The Ocean Salt
Me and TJ wanted to have a dip in the sea after the frisbee incident has settled and when it does, I was like, kinda regretting it.
He taunted me not swimming in the ocean. I, who could not take it, went to dip has leg into a highly concerntrated, filled with lots of microscopic organisms and seaweed and leaves and unidentified objects and a blue plastic bag, salt water. My leg was soaking wet and a wave hit my shorts. Okay, not the shirt, I thought. And a bigger wave came and flushed me. My shirt has been drenched. Almost the whole of it. One more bigger wave...
I took a swim there. Freestyle, breaststroke and lots of styles that I have learnt does not seemed to work well in this medium. Back stroke was the worst. The water is kinda shallow, so we mimic how the tortoise swim in the shallow waters. I call it, the Crawl-style. Then, TJ and I have a little friendly match to race each other, but no one was the winner. In the end nobody raced.
Chapter 3 Part 2.1: I is for Injured
Bryan came, and because TJ forget to bring something, so he had to lend somebody else's. TJ yelled (okay, maybe not yelled, maybe it's shouted) him to come over. Bryan mistook that we want him to come into the ocean. And he left. We played again. And we realised that the salt had rubbed into our wounds. Ouch, now that's nasty. And we
he did come back. He just grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at us. I actually did not know what was happening until I got a sample of it.
Sand in the Eye. Not bad.
>>>Fast forwarding >>>
Chapter 4: Bike Rental $5 an hour. Very Cheep!!! Very Cheep!!!
After the sand in my eye got teared out by my very own eyes, we decided to stop marianating and preserving ourselves with salt water and to dilute ourselves with a shower.
>>>Fast forwarding >>>
That's where I my excitement level dropped from 72% to about 46%. I just dunno why, and now, we are like geared up for another part of a triahalon. Bicycle. $5 an hour, it is much more cheaper than the last official chior outing at East Coast Park. That one was $7 an hour. Once we got our bikes, we are determined to get to the end of the road. But no. We are kinda thirsty after all that swim, even though that is water, inedible highly concentrated salt water. We went back to the entrance of the Beach Station, just to get a drink. TJ bought Big Gulp. I bought Brainfreeze. Nice. $1.60 each. Then, we single-handedly bike our way back to the Sapphire Pavilion. (Sometimes we use both hands though...) Then, Pei Ying they all recommend us to visit the beach next door, the PALAWAN Beach. Now then I know here is Siloso beach. What's the difference anyway?
We pedal all the way there to the Palawan beach and my gosh. I don't see anything special, except for serenity... (No one was there, well, a few people.) Then, we pedal back. TJ says it's gorgeous. Different people have different taste, I suppose.
Chapter 4 Mini-Chapter: Frisbee
We played frisbee and almost KS-ed the current frisbee team then. But sadly, they notice me and TJ coming along and so, there they go, a fresh new game of frisbee.
The 4 Shorties and the 2 Tallies VS The 2 Seniors of Doom and their
Da jie da (Big sister big). Well, ya. I'm in the first team and so as TJ.
Chapter 4 Mini-chapter's Chapter 1: The 1st Match: The Short and Tall Combo VS The 2 Seniors of Doom and their
Da Jie Da. (Translation may cause some misunderstanding.)
The only boys in the 1st team was Me, TJ and Bryan. And before we came, Bryan must the only boy in that team. -.- Then again, there were 3 girls and 1 boy. And the other team was like 2-4. Talk about unfairness.
We played for a few minutes and we're kinda lagging behind. Another few minutes later and we caught them up. Some more minutes later and we're kinda leading. The score was like... I forgot, but in anyways, we were winning a little bit more when...
Chapter 4 Mini-chapter's Chapter 2: Commercial Break: Stop and Stare
Okay, Sabrina tried to capture the incoming frisbee which is travelling at about 60mph. Yes, almost, almost. She can reach it!!! Okay, she fell on the floor. Our team will now get the frisbee. But then, Sabrina was like on the floor and sitting down with her hands on the shin... Okay, it's a muscle cramp. Time out.
>>>Fast Forward>>>
Chapter 4 Mini-chapter's Chapter 3: The 2nd Match: The Handpicked Team 1 VS The Handpicked Team 2Okay, after the cramp incident is resolved, the frisbee game continues. Actually, it's more of a new game and select a new team. Me and Chng Yong chose the team player for Team 1 in Match No. 2, and Kerwin played the as the Master for Team 2. Okay, there was once, which there were Bryan and Pei Ying up for grabs. I chose Pei Ying. (Sorry Bryan... ;D )
A whole new game, a whole new experience, a whole new change in score. We lost.
Chapter 5: Dilly-Dally
It was started to get kinda bored, when we were still playing the Frisbee Match No. 2. We went back to that Sapphire Pavilion and rested there. Some of them went to bath and then have to wait outside because there was just too much people there, already bathing. We just bathed and there's no need for another, but we just played an very sporty sport. So how? Since we did not have any extra clothes, then we just have to endure the reek smell of our sweat... We waited a little while and I don't know, but someone started to say something about IQ. And we talked about it like a few hours... Ying Yang said his IQ is 140. What the...
Chapter 6: Home together
, not aloneSome of them left before we all leave already. And by the time we all left there was only like 10+ people. We took a group picture at the front of the Beach Station (okay, 2 actually). The Sentosa was already ready for Chiristmas and all the tree has been lit with blue and normal flourescent light bulb. Nice scene, if you ask me. We went back via the tram and been past The 'OMG!!!' Station and the 'What Language is That?' station. Okay, I trembled at the sight of that IRCS (look at chapter 2 part 2) again. Maybe I was aerophobic, okay, just maybe... We all have a lunch at Long John Silvers at Vivocity and boy, sure is expensive there... I bought a set worth $6.90 and I'm almost broke and I thought the Cheese Fries and Chip is a better set. Ying Yang bought it, thinking that it's a profit. But in the end, I kinda owned him. That set is only half the size of my set. Okay, maybe 3/8 of it. I was kinda smirking at YingYang when I saw Cheryl's set. Rice. I actually wanna eat rice at that moment to fill my belly... and my pride (see the last 2 sentence) went down drastically.Chapter 7: Foot in the waterAfter we finished that cuisine (lol?) we went to Vivocity's Sky Park and have a mini-game there. I was like... What the... Can I go Timezone? (There is one there, you know?). We soaked our feet in the water at the shallow water playground (huh?) and played. After playing two game (Zhong ji mi ma and Bi shou hua jiao (Translation: Final Password and Act Hand Act Foot (I do not want to let you all get misunderstood, kay?)))It started to rain, and we had to head indoors. And we went back to Yishun via MRT. (What about my Timezone!!!??? T_TEpilogue: The Way HomeOkay, ya. I didn't know they knew this trick. To travel back to the last stop and travel back up to the destination again. We took the North-East Line from HarbourFront to Dhoby Ghaut (kinda hard to spell, actually) and the North-South Line to Marina Bay, the last stop. Then all the way up to whereever they wished to go. They did this all just to get a place to seat. Lol.The Epilogue of the Epilogue: HomeI arrived at Yishun and alighted with most of the people. TJ and Kerry were the only ones left... okay, I don't think anyone saw me, but I took 811 back to my home... I arrive home at 11, near 12 midnight. Phew, one heck of a day, man...Finally completed the whole thing... YES! Took 2 days...
